Metropolis Re:Scored
A live cinematic score by Andrew McPherson and Deliveryboy

In 2007 fellow Eccodek member Deliveryboy and I were approached to create a contemporary score to accompany Fritz Lang’s 1927 silent dystopian film epic, ‘Metropolis’. Performed live and in sync with the film, the over 2 hour score we created
blends together jazz, classical, dub, found sound, ambient, hip-hop and post-rock to create a powerful suite of theme and variations.

Dubbed ‘a trip-hop Metropolis’ by the Toronto Star and Now Magazine, the duo’s provocative score has since been featured at the Globe and Mail endorsed Fabulous Festival of Fringe and Guelph’s Festival of Moving Media.
Please watch below an excerpt of the debut performance before 800 film enthusiasts at Toronto's Yonge and Dundas Square on a hot August night.
